What I am -
Clients call me Ms. Martha. Adolescents resonate with me. I work in partnership with adults who have intermittent or long term challenges.
As a family law consultant, I understand the turbulence of litigation, and have supported hundreds of parents through the divorce process, directed an award winning therapeutic pre-school, authored two books, raised two children of my own, and created toolkits to manage life’s challenges and changes.
Each client is recognized, heard and validated through the therapeutic relationship to reduce anxiety, and the effects of trauma. This results in an increase in self-esteem and confidence. Techniques and interventions are co-created strategies making life at home, school or the workplace more enjoyable and satisfying.
What I am not -
I have a through knowledge of family law and the legal system, quickly grasping your narrative and situation. But, I am not a lawyer.
I am a therapist, a consultant in family law, with a soft voice, open heart and proven track record of getting successful results.

For your convenience, I practice in Edmonds and Bainbridge Island, Washington. When requested, I work in attorney offices. Evening appointments available upon request and when appropriate, online video-chat or telephone consultations can be arranged.
I am a preferred provider for Premera and Regence and also accept Lifewise, Uniform insurance plans. I am an out-of-network provider for many other insurance companies.
